Samantha Rux from OSF Healthcare joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to talk about flu shot clinics at Kewanee and Wethersfield School Districts. Samantha also talks about healthy options for pumpkins. The OSF HealthCare Flu Clinics start the first week of October in the Kewanee School District. The Wethersfield School District is holding its flu clinic on October 10th. If you want your children to receive a flu shot at school, you must return the release form from the school, or you can download the form on the school's web pages.

Peggy Gray (President) and Connie Osborne (Vice President) from the Stark County Fall Festival Board joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to talk about the Stark County Fall Festival. The Stark County Fall Festival is on September 21st and 22nd. The festival is on the third full weekend in September each year. Saturday starts with "Pancakes in the Park," with the Wyoming Lions Club serving pancakes and sausage from 7 AM to noon. If you want to enter the bag tournament, call Joey Charvat at 309-854-2282. Saturday is traditionally known as "Kids Day," where the day is full of free events catered to children. Sunday starts with biscuits and gravy and eggs by Cozzi Ranch from 7 AM to 11 AM. Bring your chairs for the Sunday morning church service at 10:30 AM by the Gathering Church. Don't miss out on the fun!

Kewanee School District Superintendent Mrs. Rebecca Baney joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to talk about Monday's School Board Meeting on September 16, 2024. They discussed athletic facilities, the damaged roofs from the storms, a new scoreboard for Brockman Gym, and more.

President Amron Buchanan and Vice President Ken Knowles joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to talk about Good Fellow Baskets and Tag Days Fundraiser on September 21st and 22nd, 2024. They estimate they will need to raise $40,000 this year to fill food baskets at Christmas so people can have a good meal at Christmastime. You can donate to the students this weekend, from 9 AM to 5 PM both days, at Save-a-Lot, Walmart, Sullivan's Grocery Store, and Walgreens. You can also donate to GoodFellow's Christmas Basket Club, PO Box 5, Kewanee, IL 61443. They accept Venmo and PayPal as well at @GOODFELLOWSKEWANEE. 100% of your donation is spent in Kewanee and delivered to Kewanee residents.
